Using Crew Makeup
To open the Crew Makeup window, select New... or Edit... from the Crew Actions File menu or toolbar.
Understanding the Crew Makeup Window Components
The Crew Makeup Window displays the following fields and buttons:
Fields
The Crew ID field displays the alphanumeric ID that identifies the crew.
The Mobile # field displays the crew's mobile telephone or radio number.
The Mobile Carrier field displays the wireless company providing service to the mobile phone or radio.
The Alternate Number field displays an alternate number for the crew.
The Alternate Number Type field displays the crew's alternate number type (for example, home, personal mobile, and so on).
The Pager # field displays the pager number.
The Contact field displays the Name of the contact person for the crew.
The Crew Size field displays the Number of members of the crew. The crew size is initially set to zero.
The Type drop-down list allows you to select the type of crew (for example, Line, Eval, Trouble).
The Temp/Perm drop-down list allows you to define the crew as either temporary or permanent. When a crew is set to temporary, you would normally delete it when it is deactivated.
The Control Zone field displays the control zone that the crew is assigned to. When you click the Edit… button, a Control Zone dialog box opens letting you assign the crew to a control zone.
The Personnel list displays information about each crew member. You can add crew members by clicking the Add… or Select Personnel… buttons. You can remove a crew member by selecting their row in the Personnel table and clicking the Remove button.
The Vehicles/Equipment list displays the vehicles or equipment assigned to the crew. You can add vehicles or equipment by clicking the Add… or Select Vehicles/Equipment… buttons. You can remove a vehicle or piece of equipment by selecting the item and clicking the Remove button.
Buttons
The OK button saves the crew changes and closes Crew Makeup.
The Cancel button closes Crew Makeup without saving any changes.
Creating a New Crew
To create a new crew, complete these steps:
1. Open the Crew Makeup window by selecting New... from the Crew Actions File menu or toolbar.
2. Enter the Crew ID, mobile number, mobile carrier, alternate number, alternate number type, pager number, and contact.
3. Select the crew type and whether they are temporary or permanent from the respective drop‑down lists.
4. Click the Edit… button to open the Control Zone dialog box. Select a control zone and click OK.
5. Check the Mobile App Crew if this crew should be available to all mobile users.
6. Click the Add… (Personnel) button to open the Add Personnel dialog box. Enter a crew member's name and select their job title, then click OK.
Or
Click the Select Personnel… button to open the Select Personnel dialog box. Select one or more rows from the Select Personnel dialog box (using the Control and/or Shift keys), then click OK.
7. Repeat the previous step until all crew members are added.
8. Click on the Add… (Vehicles/Equipment) button to open the Add Vehicle/Equipment dialog box. Select the vehicle type, and then click OK.
Or
Click the Select Vehicles/Equipment… button to open the Select Vehicles/Equipment dialog box. Select one or more rows from the Select Vehicles/Equipment dialog box (using the Control and/or Shift keys), then click OK.
9. Repeat the previous step until all vehicles are added.
10. Click OK on the Crew Makeup dialog box to create the crew.
Removing Personnel from a Crew
To remove an individual from a crew that you have open in Crew Makeup, select his or her name in the Personnel list and click Remove. The name disappears from the Personnel list.
Removing a Vehicle from a Crew
To remove a vehicle from a crew you have open in Crew Makeup, select the vehicle from the Vehicles/Equipment list and click Remove. The vehicle disappears from the Vehicles/Equipment list.
Editing a Crew
To edit a crew, complete these steps:
1. Open the Crew Makeup window by selecting Edit... from the Crew Actions File menu or toolbar.
2. Make the changes to the crew.
3. Click OK on the Crew Makeup dialog box to save the changes.
