Understanding the Duration Maps Tab
The Durations Map tab is used to associate a set of durations defined in the Durations tab to a duration list defined in the Duration Lists tab. A duration list can have many durations.
The Durations table has the following columns:
The Duration List column identifies the duration List.
The Duration column identifies the duration.
Context Menu Options
Add New Shelving Duration Map…: Invokes the Add / Edit Alarm Shelve Duration Map dialog box to allow a new row to be created.
Edit…: Invokes the Add / Edit Alarm Shelve Duration Map dialog box to allow the selected row to be edited.
Remove: Removes the duration map.
Buttons
Add…: Opens the Add / Edit Alarm Shelve Duration Map dialog box to allow a new row to be created.
Remove: Deletes the selected duration map.
Edit…: Opens the Add / Edit Alarm Shelve Duration Map dialog box with the selected rows values.
Refresh: Refreshes the screen.
Recache Services: Causes the Oracle Utilities Network Management System services to recache with the new shelving duration map you configured; otherwise, saved changes will not be recognized until Oracle Utilities Network Management System services are restarted.
Export Table…: Displays the SQL needed to create the data displayed in this table.
Using the Add / Edit Alarm Shelve Duration Map Dialog Box
The Add / Edit Alarm Shelve Duration Map dialog box allows you to create or edit an existing shelving duration map.
The dialog box has the following fields:
The Duration List column identifies the duration List.
The Duration column identifies the duration.
The following buttons are available:
Save Changes: Saves the shelving duration map and closes the dialog box.
Cancel Edit: Cancels the action and closes the dialog box.
Understanding the Groups Tab
The Groups Tab is used to define the behavior of a Shelving Group. Each Shelving group defines a set of alarms that will be shelved, the reasons for doing so, the durations allowed and whether a mandatory comment must be supplied when shelving the group.
The Groups table has the following columns:
The Description column identifies the description of the shelving group.
The List column identifies the duration list associated with this group.
The Default Duration column defines the duration that will be selected by default for this shelving group when shelving.
The Mandatory Comment column defines whether a mandatory comment must be supplied when shelving.

Using the Add / Edit Alarm Shelve Group Dialog Box
The Add / Edit Alarm Shelve Group dialog box allows you to create or edit an existing shelving group.
The dialog box has the following fields:
Description: Identifies the description of the shelving group.
Duration List: Identifies the duration list associated with this group.
Default Duration: Defines the duration that will be selected by default for this shelving group when shelving.
Mandatory Comment: Defines whether a mandatory comment must be supplied when shelving.
The following buttons are available:
Save Changes: Saves the shelving group and closes the dialog box.
Cancel Edit: Cancels the action and closes the dialog box.
 
Understanding the Group Maps Tab
The Group Maps tab is used to assign multiple alarm shelving tags, as defined in the Alarm Mapping Tab, to a shelving group. When a shelving group is shelved, all alarms associated with the groups set of shelving maps will be shelved.
The Groups Maps table has the following columns:
The Group column identifies the shelving group.
The Shelve Tag column identifies the shelving tag, which subsequently identifies the alarm maps in the Alarm Mapping tab using the Shelve Tag column.
