Creating a Strategy
When creating a strategy, you can either set the method to Manual and manually add stages as you see fit, or you can choose one of the auto-generated strategy types:
Max Demand Threshold: Choose this option and a Max Demand MW field will appear. Enter a Maximum MW value for the selected time period.
Load Reduction: Choose this option and a Reduction MW and Max Increase % fields will appear. Enter a MW value to reduce each hour in the selected time period. Enter a Max Increase % (0-100) to restrict the results from load increases in adjacent hours.
Maximum Reduction: Choose this option to reduce as much load as possible during the selected time period.
After you select one of these strategy types and populate the Start Time and End Time, click the Generate Stages button to auto-generate the states.
Delete the stages and modify the inputs if you wish to re-generate stages.
Previewing a Strategy
The Strategy preview page contains two panels, Options and Parameters, that have details of the selected strategy. The fields under these panels will depend on the Strategy method selected. The Options panel is always read-only; the Parameters panel is read-only for Manual and editable for Automatic.
You can see the Forecast graph for the set parameters by clicking the Forecast button below the Options panel; likewise, you can see the Stage Details table by clicking the Stages button. The Stages table displays the same data as the DERMS Strategy Details.
Strategy Preview Buttons
The Strategy Preview dialog box provides the following buttons, which are located at the bottom of the dialog box.
Create Event: Creates an event with the selected Strategy as parent and works similar to a New Event created from a Strategy selection.
Apply: The Apply button is only visible for an Automatic strategy to apply the changes done in the editable fields of the Parameters panel.
Cancel: discards the preview and does not proceed to creating an Event.
