Working with the DERMS Operating Reserve Tool
The Operating Reserve tool provides overview of available load reduction capacity (operating reserve), that can be called upon in case of emergency in the next 24 hours. It is possible to use multiple strategies to use operating reserve. These strategies have unique strategy type, which is set by the OP_RESERVE_STRATEGY configuration parameter. The tool also allows user to export operating reserve information into a file.
Available Operating Reserve Strategies
The Operating Reserve Strategy drop-down list displays operating reserve strategies that currently exist in the system. Only the active manual strategies are displayed. User can select one strategy to view available load reduction capacity under that strategy.
Operating Reserve Table
The Operating Reserve Table displays available load reduction capacity under the selected strategy for the next 24 hours. Table columns contain data for each starting hour. Positive values represent load reduction in MW. Negative values represent load snap-back (post reduction) in MW. The table can display data in compact or expanded form. In expanded form, table rows represent hours of the day (similar to table columns). In compact form, table rows represent offset from the starting hour for each column (staring hour, starting hour + 1 hour, and so on).
