Preventive compliance refers to work which has guidelines established by regulatory agencies, service level agreements, and manufacturer warranties. These guidelines would include a compliance date that must be met to stay in compliance.

Preventive work usually refers to routine maintenance type work on assets to prevent them from failing. An example of this type of work includes routine and periodic inspections.
