Crew Shift Workflow
The following describes key stages in the overall lifecycle of a crew shift.
Planning
A shift in this state means that the schedule is still being planned and activity resource requirements being added.
Active
A shift in an active status means that the shift’s schedule is approved for work. Any schedule changes made at this state is considered “break in”.
Incomplete
A shift having an incomplete status means that the shift has reached its planned start date and time and some work scheduled to it is not yet completed nor covered by a future schedule.
Completed
A shift in a completed state means that it has reached its planned end date and time and all the work scheduled to it is either completed or already scheduled to a future shift.
Cancelled
This state indicates the shift is canceled and should no longer be used for scheduling. If any activities are currently scheduled to the shift, they need to be rescheduled.
A user or any process can cancel a shift that has not started yet. Once started, it can only be replanned or completed.
Planned shifts that were not started before their planned end date and time are automatically canceled.
