Get Started with Storm ERT
When a storm approaches a utility's service territory, utilities need to estimate the number of customers who may lose power during the storm and create a forecast of how long it will take to restore power. Typically, utilities create a storm model with an estimated restoration timeline (ERT) to meet this need.
The Oracle Utilities Storm ERT tool is a web-based application that allows utilities to create accurate storm models and ERTs based on historical storm and outage data. Staff at utilities can use the tool to collaboratively create a storm model, add multiple ERT curves to the storm model, and approve a single ERT as the official estimate for the upcoming storm. Utilities can then share information from the approved ERT with regulators, customers, and other organizations to help them prepare for a storm.
With the Storm ERT tool, utilities have an easy, collaborative way to perform the following tasks:
-
Create and edit ERTs and visualize restoration curves using up-to-date outage data
-
Create storm events based on historical storm data, which can then be used as the basis for more accurate ERT calculations
