Defining Controllable Asset Types
You use the Asset Type and Controllable Asset Type portals to search for, view, and maintain controllable asset types.
You can access the Asset Type portal by selecting Admin, Asset Management, Asset Type. You use the Asset Type Query portal and Asset Search zone to search for the controllable asset type you wish to view. To search for controllable asset types, select "Controllable Asset" from the Asset Business Object drop-down list. When you select the controllable asset type you wish to view, it opens in the Controllable Asset Type portal.
The following zones may appear as part of the portal's Main tab page:
• Controllable Asset Type: This zone provides information about the selected controllable asset type.
The following zones may appear as part of the portal's Device Type tab page:
• Device Type: This zone provides information about the device type associated to the selected controllable asset type.
• Device Type Characteristics: This zone lists characteristics and values for the device type associated to the selected controllable asset type.
• Valid Device Characteristic Types: This zone lists valid characteristic types for the device type associated to the selected controllable asset type.
