Process a SR Deal

A product is a specific service that the user offer your customers.

For example, the user may offer an ‘overnight repo’ facility to your customers amongst other financial services. By defining the overnight repo facility as a product - with specific attributes,-the user can categorize all overnight repo, which shares the attributes, defined for the product.

The other advantage of defining a product is that the user can define certain general attributes for a product that will default to all contracts (repo or reverse repo) involving it.

Note:

When the user enters into a deal with a customer, the user enter into a contract.

Contracts are customer-specific.

Deals (contracts) inherit the attributes of the product by default. This means the user need not define these general attributes each time the user inputs a deal involving the product. These general attributes are changed at the time of processing a deal.

Besides, these general attributes which a deal inherits from a product - and which is changed for it - there are the specific attributes which the user has to define for the deal:

  • The Counterparty (customer) details
  • The deal amount
  • The deal currency
  • The repayment account for the deal
  • The securities pledged or received

,and so on
