Configuring User Group ID Generator
Prerequisites
Note:
Ensure that you complete the prerequisites before creating a User Group ID Generator in Communication Cloud Service.Prerequisites | Details |

Creating User Group ID Generator
To create an ID Generator configuration for a User Group, follow these steps:
- Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
- From Menu, select Configuration.
- Under ID Generator, select User Group.
- On the User Group Id Generator landing page, select Create.
- In the Basic Information section, enter the Name, Long Name, and Description (optional), to identify the User Group ID Generator.
- In the ID Generator Options section, select the character you want to use as a delimiter in Delimiter Type.
- In the ID Generator Options section, for Generation Type, select either Auto or Manual.
- Auto: If you select Auto, then while creating a User Group, the User Group ID is automatically created in the pattern mentioned in the User Group ID Generator configuration.
- Manual: If you select Manual, then while creating a User Group, you need to manually create the User Group ID in the pattern mentioned in the User Group ID Generator configuration.
- If you select Manual as Generation Type, then enter the maximum length of the User Group ID in Max Length Value. The value should be 18 or lower.
- In the ID Generator Options section, select Add Component to add different components of the User Group ID.
Note:
The User Group ID Generator configuration can have one or more Components, but one of the components must be of type Sequence. - In the Add Components page, select either Static or Sequence as Component Type.
- If you select Static as Component Type, then enter Static Text/Value and select Done.
- If you select Sequence as Component Type, then enter the following attributes and select Done.
- (Optional) Padding: Move the slider to the right hand side to enable padding in the sequence.
- Starts With: Enter the number with which the sequence starts.
- Incremented By: Enter the value with which the sequence gets incremented.
- Max Length Value: Enter the maximum value up to which the sequence increments.
- After adding each component, the ID Generator Components section displays the ID Generator pattern with the configured components, and the Sequence Sample section shows some examples.
- Select Save to save the details, or Save & Exit to save the details and return to the landing page.
After creating the User Group ID Generator configuration, you need to associate it to a Tenant for the configuration to be applicable. Once you complete the association, you can start creating User Groups in Communication Cloud Service and the ID Gen pattern is applied to the User Group IDs. Associating User Group ID Generator to Tenant
You need to associate a User Group ID Generator configuration to a Tenant for it to be applicable during User Group creation. Once you complete the association, you can start creating User Groups and the ID generation pattern configured in the ID Generator is applied to the User Group IDs.

Editing a User Group ID Generator
You can edit a User Group ID Generator configuration to change its basic details like, Name, Long Name, and Description. However, you cannot edit the ID Generator Options or ID Generator Components.
- Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
- From Menu, select Configuration.
- Select ID Generator, and then select User Group.
- On the landing page, against the User Group ID Generator you want to edit, select Edit from More Menu in Action column. Alternatively, you can select the User Group ID Generator configuration you want to edit. This opens the Summary page of the User Group ID Generator. You can select Edit on this page to start editing the details of the ID Generator.
- To change the identification details of the User Group ID Generator, edit the following attributes under Basic Information: Name, Long Name, and Description.
- Once you make the required changes to the User Group ID Generator, select Save to save the details, or Save & Exit to save the details and return to the landing page.
Deleting a User Group ID Generator
You can delete a User Group ID Generator configuration if it is no longer required. However, it is possible to delete a User Group ID Generator only if it is not currently associated to a Tenant.
- Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
- From Menu, select Configuration.
- Select ID Generator, and then select User Group.
- On the landing page, against the User Group ID Generator you want to delete, select Delete from More Menu in Action column. Alternatively, you can select the User Group ID Generator you want to delete. This opens the Summary page of the User Group ID Generator. Select Edit to open the Update User Group ID Generator page and select Delete from the Actions menu.
Note:
If the User Group ID Generator configuration is already associated to a Tenant, you will see an error message. Remove or replace the association with another ID Generator configuration to delete the ID Generator. To do this, see Editing Tenant Details.
