Creating Event Notification Configuration

Introduction

The Event Notification feature is essential for enabling proactive monitoring and management of critical business events and system activities.

Prerequisites

Following are the prerequisites to consider before creating an Event Notification configuration.

Note:

Ensure that you complete the prerequisites before proceeding.
Prerequisites Details
Set the Config ID Config ID must be Active.

Ensure that all dependent configurations and associations are part of the same open Config ID.

See Creating Config ID for more details.
Configure entitlements Ensure that you have the required entitlements to create an Event Notification.
Create Communication configuration Ensure that you have created the Communication configuration that needs to be associated to the Event Notification configuration. See Creating Communication for more details.

Creating an Event Notification

To create an Event Notification, follow these steps:
  1. Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
  2. From Menu, select Configuration.
  3. Under Configuration, select Event Notification
  4. On the Event Notification landing page, select Create.
  5. In Basic Information section, select the following:
    1. Event Name, to specify the source of the event
    2. Event Type, to specify the type of event to categorize events based on their severity
    3. Enter Description (optional), to identify the Event Notification
  6. Enable Notification Threshold toggle button to enable the notification:
    1. Enter Notification Threshold Time Window, to define the time window to be considered for minimum number of occurrences of a particular type of Event.
    2. Select Notification Threshold Time Window Unit, to specify the unit for time to define the time window within which the minimum number of occurrences of a particular event type should be considered.
    3. Enter Notification Threshold Time Window Notifications Count, to specify the minimum number of occurrences of a particular type of event against which actual occurrences needs to be checked for a given time window.
    4. Enter Notification Threshold Silent Period, to specify the time window to be considered for suppressing notifications for the given event type.
    5. Select Notification Threshold Silent Period Unit, to specify the unit of silent period to be considered for suppressing notifications for the given event type.
  7. In Communication section, select Add Communication and select the Communication that you want to associate to the Event Notification.
  8. In Status section, Active Date is set to the current date when the Event Notification is created. You can modify it to a future date, if required.
  9. Select Save to save the details and stay on the page, or select Save & Exit to save the details and return to the Event Notification landing page.

Maintaining an Event Notification Configuration

Introduction

You can update or delete Event Notification configuration to cater to the changing business needs.  When you replace or add new Communication configuration, ensure that those configurations belong to the same Config ID that you used to create the Event Notification configuration. If the initial Config ID used for creating an Event Notification configuration is closed, and if you want to edit the Event Notification configuration, see Editing a Configuration after Closing the Config ID.

You can update the following Event Notification configuration information:
  • Editing an Event Notification Configuration: Update the Event Name, Event Type, Notification Threshold values, and Active Date. You can also replace the Communication configuration if the Config ID is open.
  • Deleting an Event Notification configuration: Delete an Event Notification configuration that you are no longer using, if the Config ID is open. 

Editing an Event Notification Configuration

You can edit the Event Name, Event Type, Notification Threshold values, and Active Date of the Event Notification configuration. You can also replace the Communication configuration.

Perform the following steps:
  1. Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application. 
  2. From Menu, select Configuration. 
  3. Under Configuration, select Event Notification. 
  4. To edit the Event Notification configuration, follow either one of these options from the Event Notification landing page: 
    1. From More Menu in Action column of the respective Event Notification configuration, select Edit. 
    2. From the Name column, select the required Event Notification configuration to view its Summary page. Then from the Summary page, select Edit. 

      This redirects you to the Update Event Notification page. 

  5. On Update Event Notification page, modify the information as required. 
  6.  To replace Communication configuration, under Communication section, from More Menu in Action column, select Replace. Select a different Communication configuration belonging to the same Config ID.
  7. Select Save to save the details and stay on the page, or select Save & Exit to save the details and return to the Event Notification landing page.

Deleting an Event Notification Configuration

You can delete an Event Notification configuration if it is no longer required. It must not be associated to any other configuration. Before deleting the configuration, you must ensure that the initial Config ID used for the configuration creation is open.

Perform the following steps:
  1. Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
  2. From Menu, select Configuration.
  3. Under Configuration, select Event Notification.
  4. To delete the Event Notification configuration, follow either one of these options from the  Event Notification landing page:
    1. From More Menu in Action column of the respective Event Notification configuration, select Delete. In the dialog box, select Delete to confirm.  .
    2. From More Menu in Action column of the respective Event Notification configuration, select Edit. This redirects you to the Update Event Notification page. From Actions in the top right corner, select Delete. In the dialog box, select Delete to confirm. .
