16.6.2.2.1 Use and Execute Custom Reconciliation PMF Process
The Balance Reconciliation framework now supports dual Global threshold validation for identifying reconciliation difference breaches. Users can configure both percentage-based and absolute value-based thresholds, with flexible logic to apply AND/OR conditions. This enhancement improves accuracy in detecting reconciliation difference breaches.
- On the Oracle Financial Services Accounting Foundation Cloud Home page, click
the Process Orchestration from the LHS menu. The Process Modeller screen appears with a list of available runs.
- On the Process Modeller page, click Create to create a new custom reconciliation process. The Create Process window is displayed.
- Enter information in the following fields.
Table 16-8 List of Parameters While Creating a Process
Field Description Process Name Specify a unique process name. Process Code The process code is auto displayed. Process Description Enter the process description. APP Package ID Select the APP Package ID as 'Reconciliation Framework'. Process Type Select 'Run Pipeline' from the drop down list. ServiceID_Workspace Select' Oracle Financial Services Data Service for Analytics' from the drop down list. - Click Create in the Create Process window and the created process is saved successfully.
- On the Process Flow page, add the Reconciliation and the Adjustment widgets and click Save.
- In the Search field, use the Custom Reconciliation Process Name that has been created to search for the available runs.
- Click the corresponding More Options icon for the custom Balance Reconciliation Run you want to execute and click Execute Run. The Execution window appears.
- Select With Parameters as the Execution Type . Note that you cannot execute the Reconciliation Rule if the Execution Type option selected is Without Parameters.
- Enter the following details in the Execution
window:
Table 16-9 List of Parameters
Field Description Execution on Threshold Breach Specify if the execution must run in case the global threshold is breached by selecting one of two options:
Stop: If you have selected this option, and if the GL reconciliation breaches the global threshold level, the execution task stops.
Continue: If you have selected this option, and even if the GL reconciliation breaches the global threshold level, the execution continues.
Auto Approval Select one of the following two options:
- Yes
- No
If the Auto Approval flag is set to Yes, the adjustments that are created on top of the Recon output will be posted in the instrument tables.
If the Auto approval flag is set to No, then it is termed as a manual adjustment in the system. In this case, it goes to a completely different channel and you can review and publish the adjustments on the Reconciliation Summary UI. If you select the rule and trigger the execution saying auto approval, the adjustments or balances are not posted to the tables directly.
If you want review and publish the adjustments or balances and do not want to post all the system generated adjustments into the tables, use the manual adjustment workflow. The manual workflow exports all the adjustments from the execution updating the values for each and every adjustment, importing it and then doing a publish in the in the reconciliation summary UI.
Extraction Date The As of date on which the execution is happening. Run Execution Description
The unique description that you provide for this execution. When this execution is triggered, the execution or the run ASCII that is created will be stamped with the description you provide here. You can tag the execution with this field description. It appears on the Reconciliation Summary UI. Reconciliation Definition Select one or multiple reconciliation rules in a single execution of the run. Global Threshold Percentage
A Global Threshold Percentageis applied over and above the mapping level threshold. If this threshold is breached during the execution, you have the choice to continue or stop the execution process. A Global Threshold Percentage is compared with the cumulative percentage difference across all the reconciliation definitions that are executed in a Run. If the adjustments are coming into the system and multiple rules are being executed, you can set for all the rules a global breach of threshold at a certain level, for example 10% or 20%. The typical range for this is from zero to 100. Exchange Rate Version Specify the version of the exchange rate. Reconciliation Type Select the appropriate reconciliation type from the drop down list. Global Threshold Absolute Enter the global threshold absolute value which is a fixed monetary limit applied across all accounts to flag reconciliation differences that exceed that amount, regardless of percentage. Global Threshold Currency Select the appropriate Global Threshold currency from the drop down list. NOTE: Only single selection of currency is allowed.
Global Threshold Option Select any one of the following options: Percentage: If users select this option, provide Global Threshold Percentage information
Absolute: If users select this option, provide Global Threshold Absolute and Global Threshold Currency information.
Percentage& Absolute: If users select this option, user must select a Global Threshold Condition (AND/OR), and provide values for Global Threshold Percentage, Global Threshold Currency, and Global Threshold Absolute.
NOTE: If users select Percentage option, provide Global Threshold Percentage information and the Global Threshold Absolute information is not considered and vice versa.
Threshold Breach Condition This field is only applicable in case of Global Threshold Percentage and Global Threshold Absolute type are selected, else NA must be selected. Select any one of the following options: OR: If either Global Threshold Absolute or Global Threshold Percentage is Breached, then the Final Status will be Breached.
AND: If both Global Threshold Absolute and Global Threshold Percentage are Breached, then the Final Status will be Breached.
NA: If only Global Threshold Percentage or if only Global Threshold Absolute is selected
If both are Not Breached, then the Final Status will be Not Breached.
Run Purpose Select the run purpose from the drop down list. This field is optional. Note:
- Click Execute to start the run execution.
