15.2.2.1 Defining a Catalog Lookup Object

To define a new Catalog Lookup from the DIH Designer window, complete the following steps:
  1. From the Data Ingestion summary page, click Add.
    The New Connector tab is displayed.
  2. Click the Target and drag and drop the Target Entity from the available list.
  3. Right click on the Target Entity and select Create Catalog Lookup option.
  4. Enter the name and description for the Catalog Lookup, and then select Select Target Attribute from the drop-down list. By default, the Context Entity is the Target Entity displayed.
  5. Select any one of the Lookup Entity Type from the available list. They are Dimension, Map, Fact and Dimension as Sourced.

  6. Select the Lookup Entity from the drop down list and the Lookup Key Field is auto-populated.
    To add more Lookup key fields, click on the Lookup Key field, search for the corresponding Business Term and select them accordingly.

    Note:

    Only 8 Business Terms can be selected under this field.
  7. Select the Lookup Value Field from the drop down list.
  8. Click Save to save the Catalog Lookup details and a confirmation message is displayed. The newly added Catalog lookup is listed in the Catalog Lookup Summary page.
    The newly added Catalog Lookup is listed as a new source on the LHS of the Connector User interface in the Data Descriptor list. The Catalog Lookup Objects will appear along with the EDD objects in this list. Each Catalog Lookup Object is represented with an icon marked “CL” in dark blue color to distinguish it from the EDD objects.
