18.12.1 Use and Execute Balance Computation Management Ledger Data Compaction Pipeline

The Balance Computation Management Ledger Data Compaction Pipeline streamlines balance computations and enhances the system performance within the AFCS. By removing the outdated and redundant records from processing entities, it reduces data volume and accelerates execution times for processing runs and result area jobs. This leads to faster financial reporting, improved scalability for high-volume environments.
Balance Computation Engine determines the effective-date scope based on Compaction Mode. The process receives a single MIS Date, the effective dates selected for compaction depend on the selected mode. The Compaction Mode determines the scope of Effective Dates that are processed during a Balance Computation Management Ledger Data Compaction Pipeline. It allows users to control whether the process compacts data only for the current business day or for a rolling seven-day window. The mode is specified through the Compaction Mode parameter in the PMF request. If no value is provided, the system defaults to Current Day mode.
To create and execute the Balance Computation Management Ledger Data Compaction process in the Process Orchestration, do the following:
  1. To access the Balance Computation Management Ledger Data Compaction Pipeline, on the Home Page, select the Process Orchestration.
    The Process Modeller Page is displayed.
  2. On the Process Modeller Page, search and select the Balance Computation Management Ledger Data Compaction Pipeline.
    The Process Flow Page is displayed.
  3. To execute the Run, you can select the Run Parameter values using the Execution icon on the Process page or on the Process Modeller page.
  4. Navigate to the Process Modeller page to execute the Run and Click Execution icon.
    The Execution Page is displayed.
  5. On the Execution page, to execute the Run with parameters, select With Parameters in the Execution Type List. Select or enter the required values for each field as follows:

    Field Name Description or Instruction
    Extraction Date Use the Calendar button to select the Extraction Date for the pipeline.
    Compaction Mode Select any one of the following options:
    • Weekly: Compacts data for the last seven calendar days, ending with the MIS Date. This mode is designed to compact data for a rolling seven-day period ending on the specified MIS Date. Instead of processing only the current Effective Date, BCE identifies all the available Effective Dates within the last seven calendar days and performs compaction for each of them. This mode is useful for periodic cleanup of recently modified or accumulated data.
    • Current Day: Compacts only the current MIS Date. This mode is designed for routine daily data compaction. It compacts data only for the Effective Date that matches the requested MIS Date. This mode is intended for environments where daily compaction is performed after the completion of daily balance processing.
    Run Purpose Select the run purpose details from the drop down.
  6. To save the details and execute the Run, click Execute. The Run Execution begins.

    Note:

    The execution of the Run Pipeline is triggered using the selected Extraction Date.
  7. To verify the Run Execution of the Balance Computation Management Ledger Data Compaction Pipeline, do the following:
    1. To open the Process Monitor Page, on the Process Modeller Summary Page, select Process Monitor from the drop down menu.
    2. The Process Monitor Page is displayed listing all the Run Instances corresponding to the Balance Computation Management Ledger Data Compaction Pipeline. On the Process Monitor Page, search by the Object ID, or by the Process Name Balance Computation Management Ledger Data Compaction Pipeline, and select the Object ID for the required Run Pipeline (Process) that was executed.
  8. The Process Flow Page is displayed with the Run Execution Status on each Node of the Balance Computation Management Ledger Data Compaction Pipeline.
  9. To verify the Run Execution Logs, do the following:
    1. On the Process Monitor Page, click the required Object ID for which you need to verify the Execution Logs.
    2. To see the Execution Status details of a Node, double-click on that Node. The Activity Execution Details Page is displayed. Click Execution Logs.
    The Log Viewer Service Page is displayed, which lists all the Logs related to the Object ID. To download the execution log, click the Download button to download the file as a PDF or as an Excel sheet. Click Close to close the Log Viewer Service page.
