Database Views

The Database Views feature allows you to create database views by selecting a primary table (based on a classification code), optionally adding secondary tables for joins, and selecting the required columns. Once created, a view can be used as an alternative to a physical table wherever the consuming module supports selecting a database view as a source — for example, as an input to a business rule, calculation, or process that accepts a table-based source.

This is achieved through the following steps:

• View Category (Classification) Selection: Select the classification (Base Instrument, FTP Instrument, PFT Instrument, Txn Summary, ML, Portfolio, and so on) that determines the list of eligible primary tables.
• Table Selection: Select the primary table and, optionally, one or more secondary tables for joins (including self-joins on the same table).
• Column Selection: Select the columns to include in the view, with mandatory columns validated based on the selected classification.
