4.2 Planning Interfaces

BSP supports two forms of planning using two different user interfaces:

  • Planning by Planning Center & Product: The default form of planning is by Planning Center & Product. Under this default form of planning, you can easily see all Planning Centers that require planning, and you can drill down to more detail to see individual planning points (combinations of Planning Center + Product + Currency). You can also use "focus" elements that allow you to narrow the data that is presented to you. From these individual planning points, you can:
    • Specify new business volumes & margins
      • Either in detail or in bulk
    • Process your plans to generate forecasts results
    • Analyze and/or download your results
    • Add “New” products
  • Planning by Product Hierarchy: A secondary form of planning is Planning by Product Hierarchy. When Planning by Product Hierarchy, you can select individual Products (leaf-level Products) or Product rollup points (node-level Products). In general, the same planning features and “focus” elements that are supported for Planning by Planning Center & Product are also supported for Planning by Product Hierarchy.
