2.4.3.1.4 Dimensions

A Dimension is a logical entity that stores descriptive business attributes used to classify and analyze action or transactional data. It consists of business terms such as natural business keys, numeric identifiers, and slowly changing attributes, but does not contain measures or amounts. Dimensions automatically generate the required physical tables, SCD data flows, and (if enabled) hierarchical structures. Once approved, a Dimension cannot be modified or removed.

To create a dimension, see Manage Dimension Entity.
