8.3.2.2 Downloading E-File and Attachment

After you generate an E-File, the OFS CRR application generates a .xml file with its content formatted according to Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) specifications for electronic filing. You must save this .xml file and submit it to FinCEN’s BSA E-Filing System. You can also download an E-File attachment, which contains .csv document that is included in the SAR.

To download the generated E-File and attachment, follow these steps:

1. On the E-Filed Status tab, click the Download link in the E-File column. A File Download window displays. Click Save to copy the .xml file to your system.
2. To download the E-File attachments, click the Download link in the Attachments column for the corresponding E-File. A file download window prompts to Open or save the attachments zip file. The attachments zip file contains the .csv file included for a report from the Regulatory Reports Details page. The naming convention of this zip file is - Attachment.<E-File Number>.xml.zip. For example, Attachment.5244.xml.zip.
