2 Pre-Installation

Ensure that the following prerequisites are present before you install this Maintenance Release:

Note:

  • Before you run the patch, perform a backup of the Schema (Atomic and Config), FIC_HOME, and ftpshare directories.
  • Oracle Database 26ai Support: CRR 8.1.2.12.0 introduces support for Oracle Database 26ai for both new installations and upgrades from Oracle Database 19c. For more information, see OFS AAI Installation Guide.
  1. Before applying OFS CRR v8.1.2.12.0, it is required to install OFS CRR v8.1.2.0.0. For detailed instructions on installing this OFS CRR Release, see OFS CRR Application Pack Installation Guide 8.1.2.0.0.
  2. Apply the following mandatory patches in the exact order listed before upgrading to CRR 8.1.2.12.0:
    • 1- Environments with BD 8.1.2.8.x and CRR 8.1.2.8.x
      • CRR 8.1.2.8.1 (Patch 37073503)
      • CRR 8.1.2.8.2 (Patch 37079344)
      • BD 8.1.2.8.1 (Patch 37168150)
    • 2- Environments with BD 8.1.2.x and CRR 8.1.2.x (excluding CRR 8.1.2.8.x)
      • CRR 8.1.2.0.2 (Patch 37529329)
      • CRR 8.1.2.0.3 (Patch 37529337)
    • 3- Environments with CRR 8.1.2.8.x and no BD installed
      • CRR 8.1.2.8.1 (Patch 37073503)
      • CRR 8.1.2.8.2 (Patch 37079344)
    • 4- Environments with CRR 8.1.2.x (excluding CRR 8.1.2.8.x) and no BD installed
      • CRR 8.1.2.0.4 (Patch 37635174)
      • CRR 8.1.2.0.5 (Patch 37637396)
      • CRR 8.1.2.0.2 (Patch 37529329)
      • CRR 8.1.2.0.3 (Patch 37529337)

    Note:

    • Install the patches in the specified order. Each subsequent patch must be applied only after the successful completion of the previous patch.
    • If you are upgrading to Java 17, apply all prerequisite CRR patches before performing the Java 17 upgrade, as these patches do not support Java 17. After completing the prerequisite patches, upgrade to OFSAAI 8.1.2.6.0.0, and then upgrade to OFS CRR 8.1.2.12.0.
    • If the environment has BD installed, apply the required BD prerequisite patches before upgrading to version 8.1.2.12.0. For more information, see OFS BD 8.1.2.12 Installation Guide.
  3. Download and apply the OFS_AAI_8.1.2.6.0 file from MOS by searching the patch number 38681161 under the Patches & Updates tab. For more information, see OFS AAI Installation Guide.
  4. Download and apply the OFS ECM 8.1.2.12.0 ML archive file from MOS by searching the patch number 39025972 under the Patches & Updates tab. For more information, see OFS ECM Installation Guide .

    Note:

    This step is applicable only if you are using OFS ECM.
  5. Download the OFS_CRR 8.1.2.12.0 archive file from MOS by searching the patch number 39694032 under the Patches & Updates tab.
  6. Downgrade the commons-logging JAR from version 1.3.1 with 1.1.3 to resolve the following issue. Remove commons-logging-1.3.1.jar and keep commons-logging-1.1.3.jar.
    Bug 39700751: No application-related logs are being generated in the POP5 setup after the latest AAI application build. Similar behavior is also observed in the CRR application.

    Note:

    Ignore Step 6 if the `$FIC_HOME/ficweb/webroot/WEB-INF/lib` directory contains only `commons-logging-1.1.3.jar` and `commons-logging-1.3.1.jar` is not present.
