2 Credit Card Initial Authorization
Use the CC Initial Auth function to pre-authorize an amount on a customer’s credit card. The pre-authorized amount is held, reducing the card’s limit, but it is not a transaction charge. It is not visible on a customer’s card statement.
Note:
To configure the initial authorization amount, navigate to Simphony Enterprise Management Console (EMC), click Configuration, click Tender/Media, click Options, click Credit Card Options, and then enter the amount in the Initial Authorization Amount field.- Authorize

Pre-authorize a credit card to validate the card against the amount and then pay off the transaction to avoid the need to tap, swipe, or insert the card again.
