Incremental Authorization

Pre-authorize a credit card to validate the card against the amount; pre-authorize the card again on the same transaction avoiding the need to tap, swipe, or insert the card again; and then pay off the transaction to avoid the need to tap, swipe, or insert the card again.

  1. Log in to workstation 01.
  2. Start a transaction.
  3. Ring in the items.
  4. Select CC Auth, and then tap, swipe, or insert the credit card. For example, a Visa card.
    The PED lights up prompting for the card. The authorization is successful without the need to tap, swipe, or insert the card again. The credit card vouchers for the authorization are printed. The authorization details are displayed in the Check Detail Area. The credit card limit is reduced by the authorized amount.
  5. Ring in more items.
  6. Select CC Auth.
  7. Select the same card from the list. For example, the Visa card.
    The authorization is successful without the need to tap, swipe, or insert the card again. The credit card vouchers for the authorization are printed. The authorization details are displayed in the Check Detail Area. The card's credit limit is adjusted and reduced by the new authorized amount.
  8. Select CC Finalize and pay off the transaction. You can also add tips.
    The finalize operation is successful without the need to tap, swipe, or insert the card again. The credit card vouchers for the sale are successfully printed. The authorization and payment details are displayed in the Check Detail Area. The cards credit is reduced by the transaction amount and is visible in the customer’s card statement.
