Reopen Check Cash Payment

Amend items on a transaction that had pre-authorization, was paid off, and then pay off with cash.

  1. Log in to workstation 01.
  2. Start a transaction. For example, Check 1.
  3. Ring in the items.
  4. Select CC Auth, and then tap, swipe, or insert the credit card. For example, a Visa card.
    The PED lights up prompting for the card. The authorization is successful, the credit card vouchers for the authorization are printed, and the authorization details are displayed in the Check Detail Area. The credit card limit is reduced by the authorized amount.
  5. Select CC Finalize, pay off part of the transaction, and add a tip. For example, $10.00.
    The finalize operation is successful without the need to tap, swipe, or insert the credit card again. The credit card vouchers for the sale are printed. The authorization and payment details are displayed in the Check Detail Area. The credit card is reduced by the transaction amount and is visible in the customer’s card statement.
  6. Select Reopen Closed Check.
  7. Select the previous check. For example, Check 1.
  8. Highlight the CC payment in the Check Detail Area.
  9. Select Void.
    The authorization void is successful, the credit card vouchers for the void are printed, and the authorization reversal details are displayed in the Check Detail Area. The card used for the reopened transaction is increased to the original transaction amount of the voided payment and is visible in the customer’s card statement.
  10. Select CC Finalize.
    The message Error No Credit Authorizations were found appears.
  11. Ring in more items.
  12. Pay off the transaction in cash.
