Configuring a Workstations Touchscreen Aspect Ratio

When configuring workstation touchscreens, the default aspect ratio is 16:9. This only affects how the sample screens are rendered in the EMC and not on the point of sale (POS) workstations. An additional aspect ratio of 16:10 is available, and must be utilized, when configuring Oracle MICROS Compact Workstation 3 Series devices. The 4:3 aspect ratio remains available as needed for legacy devices such as the Workstation 5a. This configuration is not supported for Hand Held Terminal (HHT) devices such as POS clients running the Android mobile operating system.

To configure the aspect ratio setting:

  1. Sign in to EMC.
  2. Select the Enterprise, property, revenue center, or zone, click Configuration, and then click Page Design.
  3. Insert a new, or select an existing workstation record (using a non-HHT page template).
  4. From the Edit tab, select Aspect from the toolbar.

  5. Based on the model of workstation you are configuring, select the aspect ratio setting for your workstation, and then Save.
