Adding an API Account

The information needed to add an API account depends on the API for which you are adding the account. When you add an account for the second generation of the Simphony Transaction Services API, select Simphony Transaction Services as the account type. See Adding API Accounts.

Permissions

The following table describes permissions and authorization details for the Simphony Transaction Services Generation 2 API:

Client Scope

Select an API scope as follows:

BOTH: both location and cloud-based APIs.

LOCAL: location-based APIs.

CLOUD: cloud-based APIs.

Authorization Scope

Select an authorization scope as follows:

Select All to grant the API account access to the entire enterprise, including all levels and locations.

Select Selected and then click Edit to grant the API account access to specific levels or locations.

Click Hierarchy to grant access to an entire level of locations.

Click Locations to grant access to individual locations.

The unique Client ID generated for the API account is used for authenticating when calling the Configuration and Content API.

A Welcome email is sent to the registered email address of the API account with instructions to set the password for the API account.
