Incoming Interfaces

Due to the type of service, these properties will likely have incoming interfaces such as kiosks or online ordering platforms.

IP-based data channels feed into the system in addition to orders created by operators. As a result, the external internet connection becomes a critical component of the ordering system, not just a means for collecting sales data.

Key considerations:

• Firewall configurations (inbound and outbound)
• The internet connection can become mission critical

Outgoing Interfaces

Similarly, these properties will likely have outgoing interfaces, such as Order Confirmation Boards or PMS Sales Interface Controllers (IFC). There are IP-based outgoing data channels from the system, in addition to sales data collection.
