Configuring Scales Select the property, click Setup, and then click Workstations. Double-click the workstation to open it in form view. Click the Devices tab. In the Peripheral Device Configuration section, click Add. In the Select Peripheral Device Type drop-down list, select Scale (Serial). Enter the COM Port to which the scale connects. Select the following settings, and then click OK: Baud Rate: 9600 Parity: E Data Bits: 7 Stop Bits: 1 (Optional) If you are using an Oracle Tablet E-Series, click the Display/Security subtab, and then deselect 39 - Floating tablet. Click Save. Allow the configuration change to download to the workstation. Connect the scale’s serial cable to the workstation’s serial COM port. Connect the scale’s power cord to the outlet. Restart the workstation. Verify that the scale is connected and ready for operation: Sign on to the workstation as an employee with PMC privileges. Launch PMC, and then click the Functions tab. Click Device Diagnostics. Click Get Scale Weight. Place a weighed menu item on the scale and add the menu item to a guest check. Parent topic: Scales
