Givex Host Adaptor

Due to the Givex Processor requiring communication with a vendor host adaptor (which in turn communicates with the vendor's host system using a vendor-specific protocol), you need to download and install the host adaptor on a workstation.

Givex is Windows-based, and as such, runs as a Windows service on workstations.

The Givex Host Adaptor has its own configuration file called GIVEX.INI, which requires modification in the following areas:

• Connection information for the Givex host.

• Record numbers to map to Givex Transactions, specifically:

  • INVENTORY_BASE relates four transactions to Service Charge entries.

  • TENDER_BASE relates six transactions to Tender/Media.

After modifying the configuration file, restart the Givex Host Adaptor service. The name of the service is Givex SVC Adaptor.
