Synonym reconciliation management
To continue to use a synonym after you have upgraded the related synonym list to a new dictionary version, you must verify that both the associated code and term exist in the new dictionary version.
If the code and term do not exist, or if the code still exists but the term has changed in the new dictionary version, you must reassociate the synonym to a new code and term to reconcile any differences.
The Central Coding application automatically reassociates synonyms with current terms for MedDRA dictionary versions. For other dictionary types, you must manually select a new term and code for the synonym on the Reconcile Synonyms page.
You can choose whether to:
- Reconcile or delete each synonym in the list individually.
- Reconcile all the synonyms from the list at one time.
The Central Coding application deletes synonyms that are not reconciled from the list.
