Masking a synonym

Inherited synonyms keep the status from the parent synonym list.

Use this procedure to mask a synonym from a child synonym list, so that the autocoding algorithm treats it as Inactive.

1. Select Coding Setup > Synonym Lists.
   The Synonym Lists page appears.
2. Click the Name link for a synonym list.
   The [Synonym List Name] page appears.
3. Select one or more synonyms.
4. Select Actions > Mask.
   The Reason for Change dialog box appears.
5. In the Reason field, enter a description for the change.
6. Click Accept.
