User account statuses

Each user account has a status, as described in the following table.

Hover text Description

Inactive Never Used (Status icon. User inactive never used.)

The user profile exists, but it has not been activated. Accounts for new users have this status.

Active Never Used (Status icon. User active never used.)

The user profile is active, but the user has not attempted to log in.

Active (Status icon. User active.)

The user has successfully logged in and can access the application. New accounts must be activated before they can be used.

Locked (Status icon. User locked.)

An active user account is locked if the user exceeds the maximum log-in attempts configured in the System Configuration setting Failed logon limit when using an incorrect password.

The user can attempt to log in again after a set amount of time configured in the System Configuration setting Non-Super user lockout timeout.

Inactive (Status icon. User inactive.)

The user is in the system but cannot access the application. Inactive accounts can be activated.

Terminated (Status icon. User terminated.)

The user can no longer access the application. Termination is permanent and terminated accounts cannot be activated again.

Invalid (Status icon. User invalid.)

Database-only status. The user profile is being entered and is not yet saved. When the user profile is saved, it automatically changes to Inactive Never Used.
