Description of the illustration dmw_obj_own_w_text_w_ba.gif

This large diagram shows object ownership within the DMW domain in the DMW database. There are two predefined domains within the DMW domain. One, called DMW Refdata, is used for storing reference tables and programs. The other, called DMW UTILS, is used for storing custom programs developed for transformations and validation checks. In addition, there is a domain for each study, created whenever a user creates a study in DMW. Within each study domain there is metadata for the following object types: clinical data models, which contain tables, tables, programs, load sets, and data marts. In addition, there are transformation maps, which are used both for transformations and for validation check batches. Each study domain also contains three application areas, one for each lifecycle stage (Development, Quality Control, and Production). Each one contains a Work Area for each clinical data model, validation check batch, and custom listing. Each Work Area contains object instances that refer to the metadata stored directly in the study domain. Input clinical data model Work Areas contain table instances, load set instances, and data mart instances. Target clinical data model Work Areas contain table instances, program instances, and data mart instances. Validation Check Batch Work Areas and Custom Listings Work Areas contain table instances and program instances. Program instances, data mart instances, and load set instances contain execution setups.
