Alert type conditions

Creating an alert type involves importing a view for each alert type rule. The view's WHERE clause determines the condition associated with the alert type and the conditions are validated when you save the alert type. One alert type can have several rules; however, there is one rule per review period or per complexity level.

During validation, Oracle Empirica Signal checks the condition's SQL statement and the columns identified in the condition. This controls the rows and columns displayed in the Product-Event Combinations table when the alert type tab is selected. The list of valid columns for the alert type condition is a subset of the list of columns allowed for a view.

Although alert type conditions can contain other alerts, we do not recommend this practice or guarantee the results.

Note:

If the alert type is tracked but you did not specify an abbreviation or color, Oracle Empirica Signal uses default values.
