Delete a user

Note:

This procedure does not apply for Oracle-hosted installations unless you are a superuser deleting a local user. You delete single sign-on users in the Oracle Health Sciences Identity and Access Management Serviceconsole. For more information, see Purge users.

When you delete a user:

  • You become the owner of objects created by the user except topics or topic actions.
  • The user cannot log in to the application.
  • If the user is assigned to a product or product-event combination, Oracle Empirica Signal removes the assignments.
  • The deleted user's user name can be reused for a new user.
  • Objects cannot be assigned to the user.
  • Comments created by the user on the Product-Event Combinations page remain attributed to the user.
  • The user's user name remains associated with the user's previous actions in the User Activity Audit Trail. The user name is followed by (deleted).
  1. If the user is assigned to a topic or topic action, reassign the topic or topic action. Note the following about reassigning topics or topic actions:
    • To reassign a topic or topic action, you must be on the user's work team and have the appropriate work team permissions.
    • If topics or topic actions assigned to the user are in different topic workflow configurations, you can reassign topics and topic actions for only one topic workflow configuration in a login session.

For example, if you reassign a topic in a topic workflow configuration, you must log out and then log back in to reassign a topic in a different topic workflow configuration.

  2. In the left navigation pane, click the Settings icon (Settings icon).
  3. In the Manage Users section, click Edit Users.
  4. Click the user's Row Action menu (Row Action menu icon), and then click Delete.
  5. If the deleted user is logged in to Oracle Empirica Signal, the user can continue working. However, after the user logs out, the user cannot log in again.

    Note:

If the user has one or more private topics, Oracle Empirica Signal prevents you from deleting the user and displays the name or ID of the private topic. Contact a superuser to reassign or delete the private topic.
