Edit a login group

  1. In the left navigation pane, click the Settings icon (Settings icon).
  2. In the Manage Users section, click Edit Login Groups.
  3. Click Edit for a login group.

If you are not a superuser but you have the Administer Users permission, the Login Group Settings page appears for your own login group as soon as you click Edit Login Groups on the Settings page.

  4. In the Logo Image field, enter the name of an image file to appear on the page banner to the right of the Oracle Empirica Signal text (You cannot use a text file.) The image file must exist in the \image subdirectory of the server location to which the application was installed. The application scales any logo image to fit within the space allotted for the header. The aspect ratio is maintained so that the width of the image is also scaled.

By default the Logo Image field specifies logo.gif (the Oracle Empirica Signal logo). If you leave the Logo Image field blank, it is reset automatically to the default, and no image appears on the page banner to the right of the Oracle Empirica Signal text.

  5. In the Home Page field, enter the name of the file that contains the customized page, in .html format, for the Home page. The .html file must exist in the \customhomes subdirectory of the server location to which the application was installed.

By default the Home Page field specifies home.inc. If you leave the Home Page field blank, it is reset automatically to the default.

  6. From the Signal Management Configuration drop-down list, select a signal configuration from those published to the login group that you are editing.

    Note:

The same signal configuration can be assigned to multiple login groups.
  7. From the Topic workflow Configuration drop-down list, select a topic workflow configuration from those published to the login group that you are editing. A user can make a topic visible to work teams that are based on login groups to which the topic workflow configuration is assigned.

Topic Management (topic management icon) is not available to users unless they are in a login group with an assigned topic workflow configuration and they have the View Topics permission (The exception is that users with the Manage Topic Workflow Configurations permission can set a user preference as another way to make the Topics page accessible).

    Note:

The same topic workflow configuration can be assigned to multiple login groups.
  8. Click Save.
If you modified settings for an existing login group, then users currently logged in who are associated with the login group are not affected by the changes during their current session. The changes take effect the next time they log in.
