Refresh LDAP users

User information in Oracle Empirica Signal is refreshed with user information from the LDAP directory if:

  • The Oracle Empirica Signal user is an LDAP user.
  • There is LDAP information for the user in the LDAP directory, and that information has changed since the last refresh of LDAP users.

User names can change as a result of refreshing LDAP users. Every place that the user name or other information appears in the application, including the User Activity Audit Trail, is updated with information from the LDAP directory.

  • The refresh operation does not add new users from the LDAP server. See Import LDAP users.
  • For users who are LDAP users, do not make changes to user information in Oracle Empirica Signal. If you do so, the changes will be lost when you next refresh LDAP users.

Note:

This procedure does not apply for Oracle-hosted installations.
  1. Log in to Oracle Empirica Signal as a user with the permissions Administer Users and Administer LDAP.
  2. In the left navigation pane, click the Settings icon (Settings icon).
  3. In the Manage Users section, click Edit Users.
  4. Click Refresh LDAP Users. This option is available only if an LDAP configuration has been set up.

Messages tell you whether or not information for each Oracle Empirica Signal user who is an LDAP user is refreshed.
