About configuring Oracle database software

You can install the InForm software on a production server or on development servers. Database configurations can vary depending on your environment.

Note: You must select the WE8MSWIN1252 character set.

The following sections describe the different Oracle configurations. Because every installation has different needs, you must monitor and make changes as necessary to improve your installation performance and workflow.

To create an InForm database:

  1. Read the Setup parameters.
  2. Create the necessary Oracle instance for the InForm software.

Make sure to create it as a Container database (CDB) with one or more pluggable databases (PDB).

For more information, see Initialization parameters for database instances.

  3. Create the InForm tablespaces.

For more information, see Multiple trial tablespaces.

  4. Follow any additional steps recommended for production environments.
  5. Configure the Oracle software.
