Options for saving reports to the Team content folder

If you have a situation when you want to share reports, consider the following two options.

Disable saved reports

  1. Enable a process where users with Publisher rights only create shared folders with reports that have data that can be shared for all users.
  2. When creating these report templates, disable saved reports.

This option reduces the risk of data being seen by unintended users. Because the save reports option is disabled, InForm and Cognos enforce the restriction that users will only see report data if they have access to the InForm study from which the data is pulled.

Caution: Long running reports cannot be cached or scheduled to run at a later time (that is, report results are not saved).

Allow saving reporting results

  1. Enable a process where users with Publisher rights only create shared folders with reports that have data that can be shared for all users.
  2. Allow saving reporting results.

This option allows for creating reports that can be shared appropriately with all users, and supports long running reports.

Caution: Because this option allows report results to be saved, users can view the results at a later time even if they don’t have access to the InForm study from which the data is pulled.
