7.9 Set Profile Values for Load Balancing and Service Name
If you use an Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) environment, you need to set two system profile values to load balance jobs between different nodes on the RAC machine during installation and execution. If you do not use an Oracle RAC environment, you can leave the load balancing profile values empty (default).
You also need to set one system profile value for the service name of the Transparent Network Substrate (TNS) definition for the database if it differs from the name of the PDB. Otherwise, you can leave this value empty (default).
To use the load balancing feature on an Oracle RAC machine, set the following profile values:
- CDR_SCAN_HOST_NAME. Enter the scan server host name.
- CDR_SCAN_PORT_NUM. Enter the scan server port number.
To define the database service name (if required), set the following profile value:
- CDR_DB_SERVICE_NAME. Enter the service name of the TNS definition for the database (if different than the PDB name).
