Configure Existing Medication Administration Settings

Existing settings can be configured for the Medication Administration functionality.

A portion of existing settings for the Medication Administration functionality is recognized for Oracle Health EHR. Complete the configuration steps on Configure Medication Administration. When you complete the steps in the Configure Privileges and Preferences section, the following configuration steps in Configure Privileges and Preferences in Medication Administration are required:

• All steps in the Configure Code Sets section.
• All steps in the Configure Privileges section.
• Only the MED_CHARGE_ON_ADMIN and the SCANNING_STRICTNESS_LEVEL preferences in the Configure Preferences section.

  Note:

  Set the MED_CHARGE_ON_ADMIN preference to 1-On for charge on administration functionality in Oracle Health EHR. If the preference is set to 0-Off, the charge on administration functionality is not available in Oracle Health EHR.

  To enable display of last administration information, complete the steps on Configure Last Administration in the MAR Component.

  To enable bar code scanning for medications, complete the steps on Configure Medication Scanning in Connect Nursing.

  To enable incremental medication scanning, the steps in the Configure Medication Interval Checking section on All About Medication Interval Checking are required.
