Search results can be narrowed by encounter date, facility, encounter type (inpatient, outpatient, ED), or attending provider.

New filters are available on the Ask Oracle bar.

Break-the-Glass

Clinicians can gain temporary access to patent records for which they do not have access permission. Access is audited.

UI Impact: Workflow (Automatic)

A new message is displayed when you select a patient for which you do not have access permission to some or all visits.

A new prompt is displayed allowing you to gain temporary access.

Selecting the preview for a patient will highlight the corresponding row.

Enhancement PATIENT-9427:

Multiple Medical Record Numbers

Component: Patient and Person Search Using Ask Oracle

When a patient has a large number of medical record numbers (MRN), the list is truncated. An ellipsis (...) indicates the existence of other MRNs. The entire list of MRNs is displayed when you hover over the ellipsis.

UI Impact: Workflow (Automatic)

An ellipsis indicates the presence of additional MRNs.

Updates to the Patient Preview

The Patient Search page is enhanced to include the following functionality:
  • When you select the patient entry (other than the name), the preview panel is displayed.
  • When you select the name, a redesigned Visits and Appointments page is displayed.
The Person Search page is enhanced to include the following functionality:
  • When you select the patient entry (other than the name), the patient chart is displayed.
  • When you select the name, the preview panel is displayed.

UI Impact: Workflow (Automatic)

The Preview button is no longer available. The appearance of the Visits and Appointments page is changed to show more relevant information first.

Enhancement EHRM-18652:

Create New Patient

Component: Patient and Person Search Using Ask Oracle

When a user in a nonclinician role searches for a person that does not exist in the system, a Create New Patient button is available so the user can create a new patient record.

The Create New Patient button allows the nonclinician user to create a new patient.

Correction PATIENT-5776:

No Encounters Message

Component: Patient and Person Search Using Ask Oracle

The message that is displayed when encounters are not found in a search is updated to: We couldn't find any encounters for this patient. This change accounts for the potential that an encounter exists but was not retrieved, potentially because of a service being inoperative.

UI Impact: Visual only

No validation testing is provided because the solution change contains modifications that require undue effort or potentially harmful system configurations to test. As part of your regression testing, ensure that your system is working as expected.
