Preparing the CSV File
- Download the Sample CSV file to import groups from: Groups.csv
- At a minimum, the file must have these exact column headings:
- Display Name
- User Members
- You can have additional (not mandatory) columns with the exact column heading names as
below:
- Description
- The User Members Column should include the User Names/User IDs. The User Members Column can include multiple user names, so ensure there is a semicolon (;) after each user name when entering multiple user names. Ensure that the user names in the User Members column already exist in the identity domain.
- At a minimum, the file must have these exact column headings:
- Optional. To familiarize yourself with the import process, consider importing just the demo data. You can then delete the unwanted demo data before you begin importing live data.
- Review and then delete any demo data in the Groups.csv file.
- Create an import file using the Groups.csv file. The Groups.csv file is a simple text file in a tabular format (rows and columns). The first row in the file defines the columns (fields) in your table.
- Save your file in CSV format with UTF-8 encoding. Saving the file in UTF-8 format ensures that non-English characters appear properly.
Note:
- Ensure the group name adheres to the naming convention when creating groups in the Identity Provider. Ensure the group name is always in uppercase letters.
- The group name must always have the prefix as Property, Chain, or Enterprise code followed by '-' before the group name.
- For example, HOTEL1-FRONTDESK where HOTEL1 can be either an enterprise code, chain code, or property code, and FRONTDESK is the group name.
