Steps to Bulk Import Users to OCIM using the Import Users Feature in OCI IAM Identity Domain

  1. Log in to the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Console using https://cloud.oracle.com as an Identity Domain Administrator.
  2. Open the navigation menu and select Identity & Security. Under Identity, select Domains and select the name of the identity domain in which you want to work.
  3. Select User Management.
  4. Under Users, click the Actions menu and select Import Users.
  5. In the Import users window, drag and drop the Users.csv file or click to browse for the file.
  6. Select Import.

If a user account is missing a required value, such as the user's first name, last name, or username, then that account won't be imported and the next user account in the CSV file is evaluated.

  7. After the job completes, go to the Reporting page to review Jobs. Locate and open the job that you want to view.
Review the job details that displays the first names, last names, email addresses, user names, and statuses of the users you want to import.

Note:

  • If a user account already exists in the OCI IAM Identity Domain, the bulk user import updates the user attributes for that particular user. If the user account does not exist, it creates a new one.
  • If you do not want users to be notified that the identity domain created accounts for them, then you must set the ByPass Notification column to TRUE for those users. The ByPass Notification flag controls whether an email notification is sent after creating or updating a user.
