Key Concepts
- Enterprise Composition:
- An Enterprise is a collection of mutually exclusive chains or clusters.
- An enterprise can be provisioned in multiple OPERA cloud environments.
- A chain code within an enterprise can be provisioned in multiple OPERA cloud environments.
- A chain code and property codes combinations must be unique to an OPERA Cloud environment within an enterprise.
- Chain or Cluster Composition:
- A Chain or Cluster is a collection of mutually exclusive properties.
- Property Codes must be unique in an enterprise and cannot be duplicated across multiple OPERA Cloud environments.
- OCI Cloud Tenancy and IAM Identity Domains:
- Each OPERA Cloud Enterprise is provisioned with a dedicated Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Tenancy.
- Customers are entitled to two dedicated OCI IAM Identity Domains:
- OCI IAM Identity Domain - Non Production: For non-production environments
- OCI IAM Identity Domain - Production: For production environments
- These Identity Domains allow customers to manage user access to their OPERA Cloud services.
- The default identity domain is generally used for production environments; the additional domain is used for UAT/non-production environments.
- Customers can create additional identity domains to:
- Support multiple enterprises, especially in non-production environments.
- Allow use cases, such as duplicate property codes, across multiple OPERA Cloud environments.
- Enterprise ID and IAM Association:
- A customer’s dedicated OCI IAM Identity Domain is tied to their OPERA Cloud Enterprise ID.
- This forms the core part of the OPERA Cloud Identity Management (OCIM) solution, acting as the Identity and Access Management (IAM) layer for that enterprise.
- Support for Multiple Brands and Franchises:
- Customers with multiple brands that do not share data can have separate, independent enterprises for each brand.
- Franchises can be represented as separate chains within the same enterprise.
