Hurdle Rates

The Hurdles screen allows you to view the different hurdles configured for the property. By default, you can view the list of all the hurdles at the property starting from your system’s current date.

From the Availability main menu, select Hurdle Rates. In this section, you can:

  • View the list of existing Hurdle Rates for the Property.

  • Search the list of Hurdle Rates.

Prerequisites

Appropriate permissions are required to access the Hurdles menu. From the Role Manager menu, select Role Permissions. The option accessible from the Availability main menu is covered by the View Hurdle Rates permissions of the Channel Management module. For further information, see: Role Permissions.

Managing Hurdles

Use the following to search:

  • Hurdle Date: Select the starting hurdle date.

  • Room Type: Select one or multiple room types.

Click Search to get search results. Only records matching all selected criteria appear. Click Reset to reset the search data and get the default display.

Viewing Hurdle Rates

By default, you can view the list of all the hurdles configured in your Property Management System (PMS) starting from your system’s current date.

  • Hurdle Date: Shows the date this hurdle rate is effective.

  • Room Type: Shows the property room type for which the hurdle rate is configured.

  • Room Category: Shows the room category associated to the above room type.

  • Yield Category: Shows the yield category associated to the above room type.

  • Yield Market: Shows the yield market associated to the room type.

  • Length of Stay: Shows the length of stay applicable to the hurdle rate.

  • Hurdle: Shows the value that must be reached for the rate code or room type to appear on the rate grid.

  • Delta: Shows the monetary value added to the hurdle rate for each additional room sold up to the ceiling. If the hurdle rate is set at $80.00 and the delta is $1.00, the ratable value needs to be $80.00 or more for the first room sold. For the second room, the ratable value needs to be $81.00, for the third room $82.00, and so on up to the ceiling at which time no additional delta values are added.

  • Ceiling: Shows the number of rooms to be sold to which the delta value should be added.

  • Override: Shows the override status. If the hurdle rate is changed at least once, the status is Yes.

  • Maximum Rooms Sold: Shows the maximum number of rooms to be sold in the room types linked to the yield category.

  • Actual Rooms Sold: Shows the number of rooms sold in the room types linked to the yield category since the last update from the yield management software.

  • Expand each hurdle to view the Maximum Rooms Sold and Actual Rooms Sold against it.
