Compressing Invoices
-
After you compress invoices, you cannot add new postings or adjust transactions on the invoice.
-
You cannot compress invoices that include postings for the current business date.
-
You cannot compress invoices that have been paid either partially or in full.
-
The Payment button is not available for the detail invoices of a compressed invoice. You can apply a payment only to the top-level master invoice.
When you combine two or more invoices into a single invoice, the combined entry is assigned a new invoice number on the Manage Account Invoices page. The new parent invoice reflects the total amount of the compressed invoices and displays an icon to identify the record as compressed.
A plus sign (+) appears to the left of the parent invoice; click the plus sign (+) to expand and view the original invoices, now marked by an icon, that are now compressed. The plus sign (+) changes to a minus sign (-). Click the minus sign (-) to collapse the display of individual invoices to view only the compressed invoice.
