Creating Membership Types

  1. From the Administration menu, select Client Relations, select Membership Management, and select Membership Types

  2. Click New and enter the following details:
    1. Rank: Enter a rank prioritizes the Membership Type reservation when competing with other reservations. Ranks in both Membership Level and Membership Types are incorporated for guest importance. The rank is not mandatory and can have duplicates and non-sequential numbering. One is considered the highest rank (available when the AI Room Assignment OPERA Control is active).

  3. Enter a Type for the membership type, enter a Description, and click Save. When you edit your new membership type, you can select one of the following options:
    1. Centrally Managed: Select this if membership points are calculated and managed centrally rather than at the property level.

    2. Primary: Select this if this is your primary membership. Only one membership can be primary.

Validating Membership Numbers in External Systems

Membership Numbers can now be validated in external systems using the Outbound System in OPERA Cloud. This document illustrates the standards accepted by OPERA Cloud in the event of an external validation call.

Requirements:
  1. Validation is set to External under Administration-> Membership Types-> Card Details-> Validation-> External.

  2. The external system should be set up using Outbound patterns.

  3. Add External Database to the Membership Type:
    1. This links the Membership Type to the correct external database where the enrollment takes place.

    2. The above action is found on the Membership Handling panel.
