Converting a Multi-Room Reservation to a Block

When the number of rooms specified for a reservation is equal or greater than then the  Block Creation Prompt Threshold Rooms OPERA Control, you can convert the reservation to a Block. The reservation Rate Code, Market Code, and Source Code are populated to the block and the room allocation setup based on the room type and number of rooms in the original reservation. In addition to the block created, a block reservation is created for the number of rooms specified, picking up all of the room allocation.

Note:

The initial block status is set according to the first (per sequence) status configured as Allow Pickup and Deduct Inventory. For more information, see Block and Catering Event Statuses
  1. Create the reservation

  2. Click Book Now .

  3. The following prompt appears: "There are multiple rooms selected for this property. Do you want to convert these reserved rooms into a block?"

    1. Click Cancel to return to Look to Book

    2. Click Book Now - to create a reservation for the number of rooms specified.

    3. Click Convert to Block to convert the reservation to a Block and enter the following details

      1. Block Name: Enter a name for the Block

      2. Block Code: A Block Code auto generates. The Block code must be unique when the Unique Block Code OPERA Control is active. The Block code format is determined by the Block Code Generation Pattern OPERA Control.

      3. Click Convert to Block.
