Configuring Advanced Rate Code Posting Rhythms

With the Advanced Rate Code Posting Rhythm OPERA Control enabled you can configure Buy X Nights, Get Y Nights Free promotional rate codes.

For each rate you define a required length of stay in order to receive free night(s). Multiple posting rhythm rules can be defined for a rate code, however there cannot be overlapping dates. For example, a promotion may be offered for the month of June where guests who stay 7 nights will receive 2 free nights. Additionally, you can choose to repeat the posting rhythm within a stay for multi-segment reservations and/or repeat within the sell segment.

OPERA Cloud will recognize when the free night(s) occur during the reservation and ensures no accommodation revenue is posted.

Package items selected on the rate code or sold separately in the reservation will continue to post; for zero rate free nights this will result in negative room revenue for package items included in the rate.

Adding a Rate Code Advanced Posting Rhythm Rule

From the Administration menu, select Financial, select Rate Management, and then select Rate Codes.
Enter search criteria and click Search.
From search results, select the rate code and click Vertical Ellipsis, select Edit.
Select the Financials link.
Select the Posting Rhythms tab.
Click New and enter the following details:
1. Code: Enter a code to identify the posting rhythm rule. This field is read-only once the posting rhythm rule has been saved.
2. Description: Enter a description of the posting rhythm.
3. Begin Sell Date: Enter or select the start date.
4. End Sell Date: Enter or select an end date.
5. Required Paid Nights: Enter the number of nights required to receive free nights. The value must be between 1 and 99.
6. Eligible Free Nights: Enter the number of free nights after achieving the required number of paid nights. The value must be between 1 and 99.
7. Repeat Within Stay for Multi-Segment: Select to allow more than a single redemption of an advanced rate code posting rhythm offer during the entire stay.
8. Repeat Within Sell Segment: Select to allow more than a single redemption of an advanced rate code posting rhythm offer within a specific sell segment within the entire reservation
Click Save.

Editing a Rate Code Advanced Posting Rhythm Rule

From the Administration menu, select Financial, select Rate Management, and then select Rate Codes.
Enter search criteria and click Search.
From search results, select the rate code and click Vertical Ellipsis, select Edit.
On the Rate Code presentation page, click the Financials link.
Select the Posting Rhythms tab.
Select the Posting Rhythm rule to update, click the vertical ellipsis and select Edit.
Update details.
Click Save.

Deleting a Rate Code Advanced Posting Rhythm Rule

From the Administration menu, select Financial, select Rate Management, and then select Rate Codes.
Enter search criteria and click Search.
From search results, select the rate code and click Vertical Ellipsis, select Edit.
On the Rate Code presentation page, click the Financials link.
Select the Posting Rhythms tab.
Select the Posting Rhythm rule to update, click the vertical ellipsis and select Delete.
Click Delete to confirm.
