Running AI Room Assignment

AI Room Assignment is a data science based feature used to assign rooms to reservations in a batch process. The procedure considers preferences guest preferences, membership levels, room features, and other criteria to minimize occupancy gaps and room wear & tear. The AI Room Assignment procedure primarily considers accessibility and smoking preferences along with other guest preferences to assign rooms. Guest preferences are intelligently removed when rooms matching all the guest preferences are not available. AI Room Assignment incorporates reservation importance by considering a ranking value for VIP, membership type/level, and market group. The procedure also maximizes the contiguous future availability of rooms by minimizing gaps with reservations assigned to each room.

Reservations assigned a room are indicated with 'AI' after the room.

Reservations upgraded by AI room assignment are indicated with 'AI Upgrade' after the room (Available when the Allow Automatic Room Upgrades OPERA Control is active).

An AI Room Assignment dashboard tile is available to indicate the number of reservations assigned a room using this feature.

Included in AI Room Assignment

• Deduct reservation type reservations.

• Sharing reservations (Future arrivals and the entire length of shared reservations is considered).

• Block reservations (Upgrades for block reservations are not supported).

• Component room type reservations (Available when the Component Room Type OPERA Control is active).

• High/low floor preference is considered when set up in preferences.

Excluded from AI Room Assignment 

• Preassigned reservations marked Do Not Move (Available when the Do Not Move Room OPERA Control is active).

• Day use reservations.

• Pseudo-room type reservations.

• Multi-room reservations (once split to single room reservations, the AI Room Assignment procedure will assign a room).

• Non-deduct reservation type reservations.

• Rooms in OO status (Available when the Out of Order OPERA Control is active).

• Rooms in OS status (Available when the Out of Service OPERA Control is active).

Running AI Room Assignment

1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Front Desk and then Front Desk Workspace.

2. Click I Want To..., then select AI Room Assignment.

3. Property:  Select or confirm the property.

4. Click Run Now.

   Note:

   You are alerted as the AI room assignment procedure is initiated. If the AI room assignment procedure is already in progress for the selected property, you will receive a notification.
