26 OPERA Cloud Exchange Overview

Prerequisites for OPERA Exchange Interfaces

OPERA Cloud eXchange is an asynchronous electronic data exchange technology used by OPERA Cloud Foundation subscribers to exchange information with external CRS solutions such as OPERA Room Reservations or third-party solutions, and is used by OPERA Cloud Central subscribers to exchange information with remote OPERA Property properties. For example, when you update a profile or reservation in OPERA Cloud, a business event is triggered and processed by the exchange module and sent to the outbound queue, and finally sent to an external system as an XML message. Conversely, updates in the external system are sent to OPERA Cloud.

OPERA Cloud eXchange supports the following functionality to ensure data quality:

  • Profile match and merge to prevent duplicates.

  • Default values for missing attributes.

  • Data Mapping and Conversion

Before you configure a new interface, ensure that you have the necessary privileges. Then document is set up to lead you through the following prerequisites, such as identifying the external systems, defining the database codes, then configuring the interfaces, setting up communication methods, and defining the interface controls. Address the needed mapping for OPERA Cloud Codes with the external system codes and configuring the required business events. Lastly, activate the External Systems for the Property and Interface.

Note:

Do not activate the external system until the configuration is complete; this creates unnecessary business events being generated and failures.
